Foreign Minister Urmas Paet Spoke to Representative of Palestinian Authority About Co-operation in Search for Those Abducted in Lebanon

At his meeting today with the leader of a delegation from the Palestinian Authority Nabil Al Wazir, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet brought up matters related to the search for the Estonian citizens abducted in Lebanon. “Estonia has been in touch with all the countries in the region in order to work together to locate the Estonian citizens,” Paet said at the meeting. “We have also asked Palestine for help,” Paet added. The leader of the delegation from the Palestinian Authority confirmed that Palestine would co-operate with Estonia to help find the Estonian citizens.

In talking about bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Paet confirmed that Estonia would continue co-operating with the Palestinian Authority to develop compatibility among electronic databases and establish their use.
Foreign Minister Urmas Paet also announced at the meeting that Estonia is planning on naming a representative to the Palestinian Authority.
During their meeting, Paet and Al Wazir also spoke about developments in Palestine and the Middle East peace process in general.
