Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to Discuss Situations in Libya, Middle East and North Africa with EU Foreign Ministers

Tomorrow, 12 April, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will discuss developments in Libya and the Middle East with his European Union colleagues in Luxembourg.

The EU foreign policy leaders will also discuss the European Union’s activities in the Southern Caucasus, including possibilities to regulate the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The ministers will also discuss the measures the EU has taken thus far regarding Belarus and potential future steps there. Another item on the agenda is the situation in the Ivory Coast after the extensive armed conflict there, during which over a thousand people were killed.

Tomorrow in Luxembourg the foreign ministers will also participate in meetings with the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Moldova.

At a meeting of the Friends of Ukraine Group, Ukraine-EU relations will be discussed with the Ukrainian foreign minister, with a focus on matters related to the negotiation of a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement (DCFTA) going on between Ukraine and the European Union.

During a meeting of the Friends of Moldova Group, the European Union foreign ministers along with the foreign minister of Moldova will discuss Moldova-EU relations, focusing first and foremost on economic matters.
